The 2nd Annual M Awards were presented at the 2008 Sports Ball presented by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Memphis. The M Awards were created to highlight the best in all of Memphis area sports plus sports related activities and businesses.

The 2008 M Awards brought with it the first incarnation of the actual M Award (pictured at right). To abbreviate the name, we call it an Emmie.

The M Awards are voted on by the readers of Memphis Sport magazine. To date, more than 10,000 have logged on to memphissport.net to cast their ballots.
